Fantasy Tour Stage 19 RESULTS

The City Islanders were the only team to have a rider in the top ten today, gaining 1:30 on everyone else (Casar). The time trial is tomorrow. Of the three GC contenders, I would rank it as:

1. Josh's Team - Armstrong, Levi, Vino

2. Los Globeros - Levi, Landis and Azevedo or Rasmussen

3. HPYBNY - Basso, Popo and somone else real slow who will be many minutes behind.

4. Flying K (may get close to HPYBNY) - Levi, Vino and Hincape

Look for Josh's Team to take over the GC lead tomorrow. Los Globeros needs to keep it close as it has the better sprinters for Sunday in O'Grady and Davis.

Fantasy Tour Results Stages 17 and 18

Savoldelli took the stage and three teams had him on their roster. GC down to a 5 second lead.
STAGE 17 Results

Another break succeeded today - 4 teams had Merckx. GC lead is now HPYBNY. Los Globeros and Josh's Team stay close enough to take over GC lead. Hmmmm, where's PGWP???

HPYBNY is probably the weakest TT of the 3 contenders. Los Globeros probably has the best sprinter. Josh' Team has the best TT riders but no real sprinters left.

NEBO

Big, bad Mt. Nebo is coming up this Saturday. Definitely a race of attrition, especially with the forecasted warm (hot) weather. Rife, Josh, Carney, and Johann will be representing the team in this tough 45 mile race.

Fantasy Tour STAGE 16 Results

Not much change today as the also-rans fought it out for the stage. Sadlsorz took the stage with Evans and Flecha. Only 5 teams had riders in the top 10 today. No team has won more than two stages. Only two teams have all nine riders left in the race (Fly Boys and Downtube Shifters).

Top three of the GC remains unchanged, but Josh's Team lost Backstedt today. Josh's Team appears to have the best TT riders and Los Globeros has the best chance of sprint bonuses. HPYBNY has the best chance of breakaway bonuses. Any of these three teams could win the overall.

Josh's Team has an insurmountable lead in the rookie competition. HPYBNY leads the women.

MS 150

Josh and I participated in the National Multiple Sclerosis Society's MS 150 bike tour over the weekend. Thousands turned out for the event even though the weather wasn't the best. We rode 104 miles on Saturday in the hot, humid, and wet weather - with the hardest downpour hitting us during the final 25 mile loop. Nice. It was still a good day of riding...
Sunday's weather was much better - as far as no rain - but it was mighty hot. Surprisingly we both felt pretty good and had no troubles wrapping up the tour with another 77 miles.
Good weekend of riding, all for a good cause.

Fantasy Tour STAGE 15 Results

Sunday -
Big day for HPYBNY (Happy Bunny) who had 3 riders (Boogerd, Brochard, Sevilla) in the break and Basso. HPYBNY moved to within 20 seconds of Los Globeros on GC. Josh's Team is 3rd at 1:26. Had Sevilla not waited for Ullrich, HPYBNY could have been in the GC lead.

Today (Tuesday) is a sprint bonus day - the last mtn is more than 70km from the finish. It looks like the game could come down to next Saturday's time trial.

Fantasy Tour STAGE 14 Results

Little slow w/ getting these results posted!

From Saturday -
Mr. Fuzz and Bud won the moutain stage (Basso, Ullrich and Landis). Time gaps were massive and showed the lack of climbing depth on many teams. Los Globeros moved back into the GC lead with only Josh's Team (top rookie) and TC close enough to challenge for the overall. Sunday's stage could see even larger time gaps.
