Tour de Millersburg (revisited)

Here is Carney's take on the road race..."It came down to a sprint, so we did the same thing as yesterday, w/ Ryan pulling first then myself w/ Matt leading the way for Scotty. The two pro riders got Scotty and Matt in the sprint but ended up w/ Matt and Scotty in the finish for our category and Matt winning the overall and Scotty getting 3rd overall." One heck of a team effort from the boys in blue!

Brian Rife - A Community Man

This post is pretty outdated, but definitely worth mentioning. Early June the Faulkner boys were at it again at another community event. This event was to help boy scouts earn the maintenance portion of their cycling badge. We had a small number of scouts show up for the event, which was held at the back of the Newport Public Library in Newport, PA. It was actually nice because we got to work one-on-one with the scouts. Brian was working with a boy named Eli who was riding a bike with a pretty awful back wheel. It was obvious Eli was unable to ride this bike. After the event Brain couldn't get that out of his head and became determined to get Eli a bike that he could actually ride. Brian's neighbor was getting rid of a kids BMX bike and Brain claimed it pretty quickly. With a little tune-up the bike was ready to roll. Brain and Denise went up to Newport to deliver the bike to an extremely excited Eli!

2007 Season

...Has come and gone. At least the road racing side of things.

And I haven't done any posting to the site!

Believe me, it hasn't been due to lacking results on the team's part. FHR has won a record number of races this year - Carney, Sanderson, Johann, Goates.......to name a few with the big W this season. I, or Scott, will get a season recap out soon. Promise.

For any of you looking for a good ride this weekend.....Ride to Read is Saturday morning, leaving from Little Buffalo State Park near Newport, PA. Great ride, great food, great cause.

Final Ephrata Results

Stage 1 - Farmersville Road Race
Sohmer escapes and lands himself into a three man break. It sticks and Ryan brings home third. The sprint finish for four place saw a huge crash take out 1/3 of the pack. Included, unfortunately, was Nathan. Physically okay, his bike and clothing didn't fare so well. See below...

Stage 2 - Pain Mtn Individual Hill Climb Time Trial
Sohmer leads the team in 11th spot.

Stage 3 - Ephrata Criterium
Carney slips off the front in the fast criterium and gets himself into the winning four man break. Carney brings home 4th place for the day.

Overall -
Ryan Sohmer: 9th
Mike Carney: 11th
